Arch proud donor of Carel du Toit Centre

The Carel du Toit Centre specialises in early intervention programmes for hearing impaired children. The centre is housed on the Tygerberg Hospital campus and is celebrating 50 years this year. For more information on the facility, see www.careldutoit.co.za
The centre currently houses 130 learners and 75 personnel, inclusive of 22 teachers. The hard reality is that only 20% of operational funding is coming from government and a further 20% from school fees, leaving them with a shortage of 60%, where they are reliant on external donors. A further financial challenge is the cost of supporting technology - a cochlea implant costs R350,000 and hearing aid apparatus between R20,000 and R60,000.
Over the years Spinnaker/Arch has been involved with the centre as a corporate donor. We are proud to announce another year of financial assistance to this amazing centre, where miracles are performed in young children’s lives, providing them with a second chance in life. We salute the patience and tenacity of the teaching personnel.
