Welcome to the Save Group

The Save group was established by Mr Moosa Noorgat in 1987 when he opened Save Cash and Carry in Victoria Road, Pietermaritzburg. From humble beginnings the company grew to one of the largest Cash and Carry businesses in the Natal Midlands. In 2009 the company expanded into smaller supermarket retail outlets, offering the everyday customer their products.
Late last year Save decided to convert their entire operation from SAP to Arch Retail (in-store) and Arch Enterprise (Head Office merchandise management system). Eight sites, including a DC, were implemented during November/December against a very tight schedule, with the ninth and last store currently being completed – this represents 127 POS points. The largest and flagship store, SaveHyper Pietermaritzburg, went live during the first week in December (photos from the store attached to the article).
SaveHyper is the largest store in the group with 35 POS points and 10 BO machines. Arch Value Adds implemented throughout the group are: EFT (Innervation), pre-paid airtime (Glocell), Loyalty (Bonsella) and electronic shelf labels (ESL). This impressive store offers a one-stop shop for discerning customers – Groceries, Fresh Produce, Appliances, TV’s & computers, Clothing, Gardening and Toys. In addition the store also has the following service departments: Butchery, Bakery, Deli, Seafood and Take Away. To cap it all, the sit- down canteen offers a wide range of freshly-made dishes, an attraction many customers primarily come for.
We thank the Noorgat family for entrusting us with their business and welcome them to the Arch family. A special word of thank you to Ebrahim Khajee (Operations Manager) and Mohammed Rawat (IT Manager) for the assistance during a challenging implementation.
