Metro Food Market on the Move

Metro Food Market is a Free State based retailer with their Head Office in Bloemfontein. Metro has been a client of Arch since 2016. The earlier operation comprised primarily of retail stores (Bloemfontein, Botshabelo & Thaba Nchu). In recent times, the business has grown strongly with the addition of a Liquor Store (2022) and a Wholesale outlet (2024) at the Bloemfontein site. This brings the number Arch Supported Points in the Group to 116.

The latest addition, Metro Wholesale, has grown from the adjacent Retail store, which traded as hybrid store offering both Retail and Wholesale shopping to its customers. The wholesale business grew strongly necessitating a dedicated trading store, hence the birth of Metro Wholesale. Wholesale is an impressive store, approximately 6,000sqm, which also acts as a DC to Metro Food’s own operation.
