E-Invoicing (also called fiscalisation) is the digital transmission of sales data to the tax authority at the time of transaction. Instead of just printing a till slip, the point-of-sale system performs a real-time checksum against the MRA’s system. This verifies VAT totals, non-VAT totals, tax registration information and the accuracy of the transaction.
Once validated, the customer receives a till slip that includes a QR code issued through MRA. When scanned, this QR code allows customers and the authority to view proof of the sale, including tax amounts paid and product details.
How the Process Works
- The transaction is captured at the POS (scanning items as usual).
- Before printing, Arch transmits the required tax details to MRA.
- The MRA confirms the transaction through a checksum.
- A validated invoice prints (with the MRA QR code).
- Customers, businesses and the tax authority can instantly verify the authenticity.
